Week 2 for MLA Web 2.0 CE class:
What is the difference between a blog and a wiki? What sort of things might be better suited for a blog and better suited for a wiki? Write a brief response on your blog.
Wikis are intended to be more collaborative, with more participants. Blogs are generally written by one person, or a few people, although others can comment. Blogs are good for chronological postings of news, information, and comments. Although wikis can be used for the same purpose, their layout and design is much more flexible, allowing more organization, allowing easier collaboration and sharing of ideas. I can also see how a wiki would be excellent for version control of a document. When I was adding links to my blog and wiki to the class wiki, I got a message that someone else had edited the wiki, so I had to manually add in my links so that all changes were then included. Very cool!
